During the PDRA orientation on May 8, 2015 at Celadon Pensionne, Palao, Iligan City, OCD-X awarded ECOWEB with P50,000 for Gawad Kalasag 2014 National Winner - 3rd Best CSO. OCD also awarded ECOWEB earlier another P50,000 for being the Best CSO in region X Gawad Kalasag 2014.
Ms Regina Antequisa, EcoWEB, Inc Executive Director with Poona Piagapo Municipal Mayor Farhana Palawan, MAO ,Farmer's Representatives and Barangay Officials Received the Vegetable Seedlings given by the Department of Agriculture for the selected PO's assisted by Ecosystems Work for Essential Benefits (ECOweb, Inc) in the selected Barangays of Poona Piagapo as well as the vegetable seeds for Tamparan, Munai LDN Last April 22, 2015 at Matungao LDN.
The CSOs of Iligan together with the Liga ng Barangay Board Members, joined and participated the Sangguniang Panglungsod Session last April 21, 2015, to seek approval of the 2015 20% City Development Fund that include the P12M counterpart for the P30M 2015 BUB Local Poverty Reduction Action Program and requested the SP to authorize a mayor to sign the MOA between the city governmnet agencies for the implementation of the BUB (Bottom-Up Budgeting).
About 30,000 F1 Robusta coffee seedlings successfully planted in a low-cost plant nursery in Kianibong Rogongon, Iligan City with the use of the Developmental Social Enterprise - DSE Awards awarded Ecorganic fertilzer and support of ECOWEB and with technical assistance from Doc James Bayang of GMG Agri-Farm Products - Bataan. ECOWEB is reinvesting the P250,000 award from PwC Philippines andBenita & Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) in this project to expand its social enterprise project to Indigenous People's communities.
With more than 1200 registered runners and rollers, the second year i Run (this year with Roll) for Peace organized by ECOWEB was formally opened by ECOWEB Executive Director Nanette Antequisa that recognized the role of everyone in building peace which is significantly shown by the PWD's active involvement in this year's event including the ortho, blind, and deaf. The presence of various groups and institutions were recognized such as far as from the Municipalities of Sultan Naga Dimaporo and Nunungan, Lanao del Norte and the City of Marawi. Huge delegations from the Iligan City East High School, Sta. Felomina and Iligan City Village Schools were acknowledged. Other group of students participants were from the School of the Blind and Deaf, St. Michaels College, Sta. Monica Institute, STI, Lyceum, IIT, Medical College, among others. Group contingents from the AFP Mech Brigade and PNP made the event actively participated by the security sector as well. Private sector delegation include that of the La Farge Iligan while civil society groups include Kaabag Ranaw, MTYC, among others. Appreciated were the sponsored runners from the Office of Kag. Siao and Kag. Obial from the Iligan City Government apart from the support afforded by the LGU thru the Sports and Tourism Offices.
