45 women from various People's Organizations who are partners of the facilitating Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of the Bottom-up-Budgeting (BUB) process in Iligan happily celebrated the culmination of their 14-day training and the acceptance of their sewing machine with some tools to be able to start their dress-making livelihood project. This particular BUB project is funded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) facilitated by the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT) chaired by the city mayor and co-chaired by EcOWEB. Other facilitating partner CSOs include the SMMI, IFUPAA, CDWA, CHARM, ICCW, LIHUK, ISM, ICAFFC, among others. This project is part of the 48 poverty reduction projects accessed for the Iligan City grassroots organizations of the various basic sectors from the BUB 2014, a program of the national government with the DILG, NAPC, DBM and DSWD serving as the oversight agencies. EcoWEB Executive Director serves as the Focal Person of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) for Lanao del Norte province.
