Tripartite Convergence Meeting on CSO Industry Initiatives

Last October 29, 2015, a tripartite convergence meeting took place at Chali Beach Resort Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City to discuss one common goal by addressing what action could be taken as an initiative to support poverty alleviation and boosting economic growth with the concerted efforts of LGU, NGA and CSO.

The said meeting was attended by 12 Regional Agencies namely DA, DOLE, DTI, DSWD, DOST, TESDA, DAR, PCA, FIDA, NCIP and NEDA; 7 LGUs namely, Iligan City, Balo-i, Maigo, Poona Piagapo, Nunungan, Kauswagan, Kolambugan; and CSO particularly ECOWEB, Inc. who presented its Industry Initiative (and their needs) in Region 10.

At the end, the body agreed to have a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) as their commitment to support the Poverty Reduction thru Sustainable and Inclusive Industry Development.

Beyond 2015 with Iligan Environmental Advocates Endorse SDG 2030 Through a Fun Run

The Iligan environmental advocates together with the Beyond 2015 global campaign represented by the Ecosystems Work for Essential Benefits, Inc. EcoWEB and thePhilippine Social Enterprise Network (PhilSEN) creatively endorses through a fun run the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 which shall be officially launched and adopted by the United Nations this September 25-27 in New York. The fun run was participated by about a thousand individuals including students with their teachers, and representatives of organizations of basic sectors such as women, fisherfolks, drivers, urban poor, youth, resettled disaster survivors, persons with disability, labor, among others.
